Mex Landscaping is a design and build firm working in Wayne and across the Main Line in Pennsylvania. One team plans the project and the same team builds it, from the first walk of the property to the final detail. This page explains what we build, where we work and how a project runs.
We design and build whole backyards: paver and natural stone patios, retaining and seating walls, fire pits and fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens. The planting, lighting and drainage are planned with the patios and walls, so the yard works as one system.
Call us and describe the yard, the town it is in and what you want to build.
What we build
The work divides into five kinds. Each has its own page on this site.

- Landscape design build Wayne: one plan for the whole property, covering hardscape, planting, grading, drainage and lighting, built by our crews.
- Outdoor living contractor Wayne: fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, outdoor kitchens and seating walls, planned together so they read as one space.
- Backyard renovation Wayne: a full redesign of an existing yard, from a single area to the entire property.
- Patio installation Wayne: concrete pavers, flagstone, bluestone, travertine, clay brick and large-format porcelain.
- Retaining wall contractor Wayne: segmental block, dry-stacked or mortared natural stone and boulders, plus seating walls.
Where we work
We work in Wayne, Radnor, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne and King of Prussia. Wayne is not a municipality of its own. It is an unincorporated community centered in Radnor Township, Delaware County, and it extends into Tredyffrin Township in Chester County and Upper Merion Township in Montgomery County. Permit rules vary by township and borough, so the township a property sits in decides which rules apply.
How we work with homeowners
- Consultation. Call us and tell us what you have in mind.
- Site visit. We come to the property to see what is there and talk through what you want.
- The build. Our crew builds the project, and we keep you informed from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
- Your space. The work is finished and the yard is ready to use.
After we have seen the space we give you an itemized estimate, with no obligation, so you can see what each element adds. We do not list set prices on this site. Cost depends on the size of the project, the materials, access to the site and the grading and drainage it needs. A larger project can be designed as one plan and built in stages.
How we build
Every patio, walkway and wall starts below the surface. We excavate to the proper depth, lay a compacted aggregate base and build in drainage so water moves away and does not collect or freeze under the paving. Edge restraints and polymeric jointing hold the surface together.

Retaining walls get free-draining backfill and a drain pipe behind them, and geogrid reinforcement where the height requires it. Walls that bulge or lean have almost always failed for the same two reasons: no drainage and a weak base.
Work you can check
A case study on mexlandscaping.com, our company website, covers a failing slope beside a garage. We rebuilt it as a natural fieldstone retaining wall, with stone steps tying the levels together and a clean driveway entrance. The page shows photos taken during the build and after it.

Our Google profile lists us under the category Landscaper. It showed a 4.9 rating when read on October 3, 2026.

Questions people ask
Does the same team design and build the project?
Yes. One company handles both the plan and the construction. The plan covers hardscape, planting, grading, drainage and lighting together, and our crews build from it, so the design and the finished work stay aligned. You deal with one team from the first walk of the property to the final detail.
Can a backyard project be built in phases?
Yes. A larger project can be designed as one complete plan and then built in stages. Designing the whole yard first means each phase connects cleanly to the next. The itemized estimate shows what each element adds, which helps you decide what to build first.
Which towns do you work in?
This site covers Wayne, Radnor, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne and King of Prussia. Wayne itself reaches into three townships: Radnor, Tredyffrin and Upper Merion. If your property is in another Main Line town, call us and ask.
